What does the “privately faithful” group look like? According to Angus Reid, the chairman of the institute that bears his name, these Canadians believe in God and heaven, but are not very involved in organized religion. “They will go to funerals and weddings … but their faith is largely a private matter.” He goes on to say “They pray on a regular basis.”
As for those who are classified as “spiritually uncertain,” Angus Reid says this: “They … believe that there’s a God, but they’re uncertain about the role of God.” To read more about this poll, please visit: www.angusreid.org/religion-in-canada-150/
In a day where plurality and diversity are extolled, many people would disagree with the following statement: “You can be sincere, but you can also be sincerely wrong.” Jesus clearly demonstrated by His words and actions that He is God. Although it is popular to say that there are many paths to God, statements such as “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6) clearly show that Jesus believed that He is the only hope for mankind. I believe it too. Do you?
Scripture for the weekend: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NIV)
