which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.

The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.

In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.

The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.

What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3

You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord. But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.

How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21

Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43

Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.

It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

Let us know of your decision so that we can rejoice with you and send you literature to help you in your new life of faith in Jesus Christ.

Aches and Praise

Aches and Praise Four Hundred & Fifty One

April 30, 2020

Dear friends,

Yesterday, we finished reading the book of Joshua in our daily Bible reading. Joshua and Caleb are two of my favourite Bible people, as I admire their courage and faith in the Lord. During this time of change in the world, we, as believers, have the opportunity to point others to the Lord, as Joshua and Caleb did thousands of years ago.

What are some things we can learn from studying the life of Joshua? First of all, we see that he carefully watched a man of God: Moses. In his Study Bible, Dr. David Jeremiah writes: “Such fortitude and obedience in the faith was surely shaped by the events in Exodus and Joshua’s firsthand view of its leading man, Moses. Joshua, born and raised in Egypt, was perhaps in his twenties when God mightily delivered the Hebrew people from slavery.” We can learn a lot by watching those who have walked with the Lord a long time.

Secondly, we are never too young or too old to serve the Lord. We might think that we don’t know enough about the Bible or have a grasp of many theological truths, but that should not keep us from seeking to do His will. Joshua was appointed as general of the Hebrew army to battle the Amalekites and prevailed as Moses prayed for him and the army (Exodus 17:8-13). At the end of his life of 110 years, Joshua remembered the lessons that he learned when he was young and implored the people of Israel to “fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth” (Joshua 24:14).

Thirdly, we must remember that God keeps His promises. All over our city, people have put drawings of rainbows in windows and on walls, telling everyone that things will get better. Many scientists are working very hard to find an antidote for the novel coronavirus. In our spiritual life, we can rest in the promises of God that are found throughout His word. God will deliver us from evil, as the Lord Jesus taught His disciples to pray (Matthew 6:9-13). Joshua watched the Lord lead His people to victory over their enemies and give them the land that He had promised to give to their fathers (Joshua 21:43).

Fourthly, we must keep our eyes on the Lord. In Joshua 5:13-15, a brief story is told about the Commander of the army of the Lord. Looking at his foes, Joshua might have wondered if he was in over his head as a military leader. However, he had learned from watching Moses that God will do amazing things through His servants as they walk humbly with Him. Dr. Jeremiah writes: “At one of the great crossroads of his life, with the weight of the world seemingly resting on his shoulders, Joshua received a visit from the Lord Himself. In essence, the Lord told him to stay the course and keep walking in the way he knew to be right.” The enemy of our soul will try to discourage us and defeat us spiritually by pointing out obstacles and difficulties, but we know that the Lord desires what is best for us.

We can be sure that God will do what He says He will do. The Bible says that those who trust in the Lord Jesus Christ have been justified by faith and have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). If you have never asked God’s forgiveness for your sins, why not do so today? Jesus left the splendour of heaven to come to Earth to die on the cross for our sins. Many voices shout for our attention, but the one that we need to listen to first is the voice of the Lord, who loves us with an everlasting love.

Scripture for the weekend: “And Joshua said to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.’”Joshua 3:5 (NKJV)

Thought for the weekend: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliot

By His grace,
