La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO
which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.
The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.
In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.
The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

Aches and Praise Three Hundred & Fifty One
This past week a technical problem arose in our office, as documents that contained words with accents in French appeared differently on the computer screen than they should have. Words were compressed and when I printed the documents, the result was the same. This has happened a few times in the past couple of years and once I thought I fixed the problem by changing the keyboard setting. This time, with help from a friend, I tried different things and am not sure which one worked, but the documents now appear as they should. With the invention of word processors, entering and storing information is so much easier than it was in the past. As you know, today is the last day of the month of May. For me, this means making a deposit and thanking the Lord for His provision of funds to maintain the Quebec Radio follow-up ministry. Your prayers are vital, as well, to enable us to produce a weekly gospel radio broadcast and Bible course distribution. A few days ago, there was an envelope in the ministry postal box that had no stamp on it. When I opened the envelope, I saw that there was a note from someone informing us of the passing of a lady who had been in contact with us for many years. I remember hearing the music of Karen’s parents when I phoned her years ago. It was so encouraging to know that she was blessed by their ministry of music, as well as the teaching of God’s Word.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, should the Lord tarry, I will write a cheque for the payment of the rent of the office space, which we have done since 1991. We thank the Lord for the freedom to proclaim the gospel in Quebec and around the world via the Internet. One radio station that has aired our broadcasts for more than 25 years is WCHP in Champlain, NY. I have never visited the station, but met the manager, Teri Billiter, several years ago in Montreal. A year or so ago, a more powerful transmitter was purchased, enabling the programmes to reach a wider audience. Thinking about the last day of the month and the first day of a new month ahead reminds me of the words that are recorded in the last book of the Bible: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:3). In recent years, there have been a number of television series and films about angels, heaven and apocalyptic events. The best place, of course, to learn what will happen in the future is the Bible. In last week’s blog, I wrote about the expression “Do not be afraid” in the gospels, which are at the beginning of the New Testament. There is another mention of this expression in Revelation 1:17: “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.” The apostle John recorded the words of the risen Christ, at whose feet he fell as dead. Jesus then put His right hand on John and proceeded to tell him “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” (v. 18). Are you worried about the future? If you have trusted Christ as your Saviour, you are a child of God and He is preparing a place for you in Heaven. Praise the Lord for His amazing love!
