La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO
which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.
The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.
In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.
The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.
Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.
Aches and Praise Six Hundred & Eighty Four
On Monday, Canadians celebrated Thanksgiving Day. Although many of us complain about the weather, our health, and other things, we should all give thanks to God for His love and mercy toward us. Last Sunday, the worship service at Grace Church Verdun focused on the holiness of God. You can watch the service at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5ZZ_4Ols6w
In recent months, Karen and I have been watching “Call the Midwife” – a series which portrays the diligent work of midwives in England in the 1950s and early 1960s. Seeing the small apartments and appliances brought back memories of when I was young. I rode my bicycle all over the neighbourhood, sometimes to see friends and sometimes to visit my grandparents, who were only about a mile away.
One of the series of Bible course lessons that we have in our radio follow-up office is “Le vrai chrétien,” which is based on a book entitled “On Being a Real Christian” by G. Christian Weiss. Karen recently ordered this book which was written in 1951. A lot has changed in the world since the time of the writing of this book, but the truths of God’s Word remain constant.
The late brother Weiss examined the Scriptures to see if we can know that we pass from death to life when we repent of our sins and receive God’s gift of salvation. He writes: “It is the believer’s privilege to know that that he has eternal life. The Apostle John says in his first epistle, ‘These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.’ – 1 John 5:13.
Weiss continues: “Christ promises eternal life as a present possession to all those who will put their trust in Him, and to doubt that you have eternal life after you have believed on Christ is actually to count Him untrue to His promises.
But how may an individual know that he has eternal life? There are three sources of this assurance: (1) the change that has been wrought in your life; (2) the testimony of the Word of God; (3) the inward witness of the Holy Spirit.
The testimony of the Apostle Paul was ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new’- 2 Corinthians 5:17. In the first place, when a soul comes to know Jesus Christ in real salvation, there is a divine transformation wrought in that life … This new nature naturally gives rise to new affections in the soul, new likes, new dislikes, new loves and new hatreds … Not only is this change apparent to the inner consciousness of the individual himself, but his outward life also will appear different to those around him.”
Weiss continues: “Secondly, the believer in the Lord Jesus Christ may have assurance of his salvation on the surest of all grounds – because God’s Word asserts that he is a child of God. The testimony of the Bible is the testimony of God himself; therefore, whatever the Scriptures say is absolutely sure.
In John 1:12 we read: ‘But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.’ Here is a clear statement in God’s own Holy Word that everyone who receives Jesus and believes on Him for salvation positively becomes a child of God.”
Weiss then examines the third witness to the assurance of the believer’s salvation – the Inward Presence and Voice of the Holy Spirit: “The Bible says, ‘The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God’ – Romans 8:16. Actually what some would call the ‘feeling’ of salvation is not human feeling at all. It is the inward voice of God’s Holy Spirit bearing witness to our spirits that we are children of God. It is not a human feeling but a divine impression. The Holy Spirit brings to our inner consciousness the vivid assurance that we are saved.”
If you are wondering what the “Aches” in the title of these blog posts signifies, it is the burdens that we can share with our brothers and sisters in Christ, asking for prayer. This morning a friend phoned and shared some burdens with Karen and me. Please pray for this brother in Christ and his wife, who have been experiencing many challenges, including health issues and having their car wrecked.
