La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO
which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.
The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.
In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.
The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.
Action Mondiale d’Évangélisation (Québec) Inc is the name of the Québec incorporation of MissionGO

The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.
Aches and Praise Six Hundred & Fifteen
In last week’s blog post, we looked at the subject of obedience, with insights from Dr. Charles Stanley, who served as a pastor in Atlanta, Georgia for many years and recently went to be with the Lord. In “The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible” he wrote: “The Lord’s simple requests often serve as stepping-stones to life’s most wonderful blessings. Simon Peter illustrates what can happen when we say yes to God.
One day a large crowd pressed around Jesus while He preached (Luke 5:1-11). The Lord wanted to use Peter’s boat as a floating platform from which to address the multitude, so He asked the future apostle to push the vessel out a little way from shore (v. 3) – not in itself a particularly remarkable request. But Peter’s compliance to His request paved the way for a life-changing blessing. From his example, we also learn how essential it is to obey God in even the smallest matters.
The noisy crowd received the first blessing of Peter’s obedience; the people could now clearly hear Jesus’ words. At the conclusion of the lesson, the Lord said to Peter, ‘Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch’ (5:4) – a second opportunity to say yes or no. But this time, Peter may have felt tempted to decline. After all, he was a seasoned fisherman. He had worked the entire night for a catch but had returned empty-handed. Now this young teacher – a carpenter, by the way, not a fisherman – was asking him to go fishing again?
Peter’s reply demonstrates the beginning of a lifetime of faith in God. He said, ‘Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets’ (5:5). The soon-to-be-disciple chose to obey the Lord and to leave the consequences of His decision to Him.
But notice what happened as a result of Peter’s obedience – Jesus demonstrated His power and sovereignty. Peter and his partners may have started the day off thinking their efforts had yielded nothing. But they ended it in complete amazement because they pulled in not one but two overflowing boatloads of fish (5:7). Saying yes to the Lord’s request resulted in a miracle that transformed not only one fisherman’s life, but the lives of the entire group.”
Dr. Stanley summarizes this account by identifying three reasons why obedience is critical to the successful Christian life:
“1. Obeying God in small matters is an essential step in receiving God’s greatest blessings.
- Our obedience always benefits others.
- When we obey God, we will never be disappointed.”
In his sermon at Grace Church in Verdun last Sunday, Jerad Mellette examined the ninth chapter of the gospel of John. When Jesus saw a man born blind from birth, He applied clay to his eyes and told him: “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is translated, Sent)” (v. 7a). If you have not read this account, you can guess what happened next: “So he went away and washed, and came back seeing” (v. 7b). What do you think would have happened if the blind man had not obeyed Jesus? I believe that he would not have received his sight.
May we say “Yes!” to the Lord, who loves us more than we can imagine, when He asks us to obey Him.
Scripture for the weekend: “Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today,’ so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” Hebrews 3:12-13 (NASB)
Thought for the weekend: “As our High Priest, Jesus Christ intercedes for us and provides the grace that we need when we are tested and tempted. If by faith we turn to him and come to the throne of grace, he will see us through to victory. But if we yield to temptation and sin, then he ministers as our Advocate to forgive us and restore us to fellowship once again.” – Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe (from his book “The Strategy of Satan”)
