La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec is a vital part of the extensive radio work of MissionGO
which reaches into many French-speaking countries of the world. The broadcasts are recorded in the studio of the radio follow-up office in Châteauguay.
The ministry began in 1955 in the Back to the Bible Broadcast studios in Lincoln, Nebraska through a staff member who spoke French fluently and had a burden for the French-speaking people of the world. An office was soon established in Aix-en-Provence in France.
In 1974, an office was opened in Châteauguay, Québec, under the direction of MissionGO representatives, Clarence and Pearl Shelly. At the present time, the broadcasts are aired on one station in Montreal and one in Champlain, NY. Stephen Frank became the director of La Voix de l’Évangile, Québec in 2006. His wife, Karen, is also a representative of MissionGO.
The weekly French-language 15-minute broadcast features Pastor Michel Martel, a Québec evangelist who faithfully teaches the Word of God. Audio messages (in French only) are available on CDs at a reasonable cost as well as approximately 40 books in French on the Christian life.

How to have Eternal Life
Epicurus, the Greek philosopher, said: « Each of us leaves life with the feeling that he has just been born, » while according to the Arabic proverb, « Death is closer to us than the eyelid of the eye. »
The thoughtful man therefore thinks of the afterlife, but only one throughout the history of mankind has triumphed over death; one who spoke with authority and simplicity of eternal life – Jesus Christ.
What is eternal life?
Eternal life is a life that never ends, and moreover, has a spiritual dimension. Jesus told His listeners, « I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. » The Gospel according to John 5:24.
His listeners were alive, but because of sin (and all are sinners) they were dead spiritually. Many brilliant men are nevertheless agnostics, atheists, because they are spiritually dead. Their relationship with God is broken, for they do not know Him. Jesus said to His Father, « Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. » John 17:3
You and eternal life
« Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. » First epistle of John 5:10-12.
The theme of the Holy Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that of the Redeemer, the Son of God. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled to the letter in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.It is God speaking to you and if you do not believe in this message, or if you modify it, you make God a liar and you bring upon yourself everlasting destruction, far from the presence of the Lord.But, if by faith you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will live forever.
Jesus knocks at the door of your life. He wants to give you eternal life. You can experience the forgiveness of sin, peace and communion with God, and the power of a new and spiritual life. This life also has an eternal dimension; therefore, death is not the end but the dawn of an eternal and glorious day in the presence of Jesus Christ and His Father.
How do we receive eternal life?
« For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. » John 3:16.
What needs to be done to inherit eternal life? We must trust in Jesus Christ. Sin caused death: spiritual and physical. Every man is spiritually dead and all die physically. Jesus paid the debt of our sin and therefore, if we are willing to turn from our sins and trust Him, He will forgive us and give us eternal life, for « the Son gives life to whom He is pleased to give it. » John 5.21
Can we know that we have eternal life?
The apostle John completed his first epistle with the words, « I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. » 1 John 5:13. Jesus gave this assurance to the repentant thief, telling him, « today you will be with Me in paradise. » The Gospel according to Luke 23:43
Can you lose eternal life?
In this case it would not be eternal. Moreover, Jesus said, « And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all that He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. » John 6:39 & 40. Speaking of His « sheep” He says: « I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. » John 10:28. As Jesus gives eternal life to all who trust in Him, He also keeps.
It’s Your Decision « For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son … Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. » John. 3:17, 18 & 36
These verses in the Gospel of John say that you have the responsibility for your eternal fate in your hands. Jesus has done all that is necessary for your salvation and now offers you eternal life. « He who believes has everlasting life. » John 6:47.That is His promise.
What will you do with Jesus? Draw near to God in prayer and tell Him with all your heart that you trust in Jesus Christ in order to receive His salvation and eternal life.

In the past couple of weeks I read two accounts of the amazing power of music and prayer. The first account appears in the New Women’s Devotional Bible (The Zondervan Corporation, 2006). When eighteen-year-old Jane D’Esterre’s husband was killed in a duel in Ireland in the 1800s, she moved to a village on the Scottish-English border. Sitting beside a river and feeling despondent, Jane heard whistling coming from a young ploughman, known as the “hymn-whistler.” She realized that her two small children needed her and returned to Dublin, where she attended a church and trusted Christ as her Saviour. God gave Jane a burden to pray for her children and the twelve generations to follow, in view of leaving a spiritual legacy.
Jane married Captain John Guinness and their son, Grattan, became a minister. His preaching helped spark a revival in Ireland in 1859, with up to 100,000 people coming to Christ in one year. Many years later, Dr. Os Guinness, son of missionaries to China, had a profound ministry of proclaiming the gospel of Christ.
The second account involves American missionaries to the Philippines. In 2001, Martin and Gracia Burnham were abducted and held for ransom. Dr. John Barnett shares some of what took place during their 377-day ordeal in his book “The Joy of a Word-Filled Family”: “Countless numbers of God’s people prayed faithfully for Martin and Gracia … as it turned out, Martin was brutally murdered shortly before his wife was freed. At Martin’s memorial service in Rose Hill, Kansas, a dear saint from Tulsa Bible Church, Marilyn Sargent, discovered how our Savior had ministered to Gracia in a very special way throughout her captivity – a direct result of one person’s specific prayer on her behalf.
The second account involves American missionaries to the Philippines. In 2001, Martin and Gracia Burnham were abducted and held for ransom. After the memorial service … Gracia wept as she grasped Marilyn’s hand and expressed how much of a blessing she, and especially her brother, Ron, had been in her life. All three knew each other during their college years, but Gracia and Ron had ministered together as members of a touring singing ensemble from Calvary Bible College. While on tour, Ron frequently sang a special solo based upon Psalm 18 – Tower of Strength. Its message that God is the tower we can flee to for strength during times of great need would later impact Gracia’s life when she was out in the jungle and all alone. This became evident when she tearfully expressed to Marilyn, ‘The whole time I was in the jungle, every night it was just like I could hear Ron’s voice in my heart clearly singing Tower of Strength to me!’”
After Marilyn returned home, she called her brother and started to tell him about being at Martin’s memorial service. Dr. Barnett writes: “Ron excitedly interrupted her: ‘You know what? When I first heard about their abduction, and began to pray for them, I was reminded of Gracia’s love of hymns. You always knew where she was in the college dorm because she was always singing to the Lord! And she especially loved Tower of Strength. So, I decided to offer that once a day as my prayer for God to encourage her.
Without fail, when it was night in the Philippines, I went into a room and closed the door, then loudly sang Tower of Strength for her as I prayed, ‘Lord, please use that to encourage Gracia!’ Then Marilyn exclaimed, ‘Ron, do you know what Gracia tearfully told me? She said that every night she could clearly hear your voice in her heart singing that song! Every single night …’ Ron himself then started crying with joy over the power of even one person’s faithful praying!”
What an awesome God we serve! I have often felt that people are praying for Karen and me, and we are very grateful for the many saints who go to the throne of grace on our behalf. Yesterday, while driving to the post office before getting winter tires installed on our van, I turned onto a side street that was covered with ice and felt helpless as the vehicle started skidding. At the corner, I was able to turn the van toward the sidewalk, narrowly avoiding hitting a car on my left. When I turned to apologize to the driver, he waved to indicate that he understood my predicament. Was someone praying for me around 8:45 a.m. yesterday? I believe so!
